Co Co Company - Adventures in Food Photography

Were it not for the team at Co Co Company, Lolliography may never have started!

Based in Dumfries and Galloway, Robert Lindsay and Ian Mead, are artisan chocolatiers who work from their chocolate factory in Eastriggs where they create a range of high quality and delicious handmade chocolates.

During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, Robert asked me to help out with some product photography. I jumped at the chance to do something different from my usual black and white photographic art and said “Oooh. Yes please!” I collected a large box of products from their chocolate shop and made a start, cramming in all I could learn about food photography along the way.

For that initial job I was paid in chocolate. Result! I enjoyed the work so much I asked Robert and Ian to kindly let their contacts at local farmers markets and other events across the country know. I also floated the idea on social media and within three months I was so busy with work I set up my small business.

Lolliography has just turned three years old and I haven’t looked back, I now shoot for the Region’s best restaurants and chefs along with a number of local and national food and drink producers. And to bring things around full circle, I’ve recently completed an exceptionally large photoshoot for Co Co Company to refresh their website content, including their Christmas chocolate shop!
